Dr. Nissa started working with the GTAEF in 2015. She was a little green on the elephant’s knowledge, but it did not stop her from spending time talking with the mahouts and learned facts (or sometimes a good joke) from the mahouts. The elephants soon learned that Dr. Nissa tended to have some snacks on her and would greet her in the hope for a bite to eat.

After winning the trust from the elephant, she started to gain more confident in working along side them and become comfortable with the giants. You may find her leading your activities with elephants, ask her a lot of questions! As she says “There is no such thing as a stupid question, only those that haven’t been asked yet!”
