Whin

Born in Mae Hong Son province, Whin grew up in a village where his father was a mahout and he was immersed in the world of elephants from an early age. When logging bans forced elephants into cities, his connection with them faded as they disappeared from his home village.

Born in Mae Hong Son province, Whin grew up in a village where his father was a mahout and he was immersed in the world of elephants from an early age. When logging bans forced elephants into cities, his connection with them faded as they disappeared from his home village.

Years later Whin went to study in the city and a newfound passion ignited within him – to make a difference in the lives of elephants through education. Initially, fear separated them, but daily feedings and genuine care allowed him to forge bonds with these gentle giants. His journey is one of transformation, from fear to empathy, all for the conservation of elephants.
